Proper posture
- Stand on one leg, with the other slightly bent or raised behind you.
- If necessary, use a support (such as a wall or bar) to maintain your balance.
- Place the ball of the active foot on a platform or step to allow full range of motion, with the free heel in the air.
- Engage your abdominals to stabilize your body.
Movement
- Push down on the ball of your foot to lift your heel as high as possible, contracting your calf.
- Lower slowly and in a controlled manner until your heel is slightly below the platform.
- Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions, then switch legs.
Breathing
- Inhale as you lower your heel.
- Exhale as you rise onto the ball of your foot
