Instructions

Proper posture

  • Stand on one leg, with the other slightly bent or raised behind you.
  • If necessary, use a support (such as a wall or bar) to maintain your balance.
  • Place the ball of the active foot on a platform or step to allow full range of motion, with the free heel in the air.
  • Engage your abdominals to stabilize your body.

Movement

  • Push down on the ball of your foot to lift your heel as high as possible, contracting your calf.
  • Lower slowly and in a controlled manner until your heel is slightly below the platform.
  • Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions, then switch legs.

Breathing

  • Inhale as you lower your heel.
  • Exhale as you rise onto the ball of your foot
