Instructions

Proper position

  • Sit on a bench with your back straight, or stand with your back straight, whichever you prefer.
  • Place your feet shoulder-width apart, knees at a right angle.
  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand.
  • Arms alongside the body, hands in neutral position, elbows unlocked.

Movement

  • Position your arms so that they are parallel to the floor.
  • Raise your arms to the level of your face.

Breathing

  • Inhale on the way up.
  • Exhale on the descent.
