Instructions

Proper Position

  • Set an incline bench to about 30 to 45 degrees.
  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand with a neutral grip (palms facing each other) and lie back on the bench.
  • Position the dumbbells close to your chest, slightly above shoulder level, with your elbows close to your body.
  • Keep your feet firmly planted on the floor, your back slightly arched, and your core engaged for stability.

Movement

  • Push the dumbbells upward in a straight line, bringing them slightly closer together at the top of the movement.
  • Slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position, keeping your elbows close to your body.
  • Maintain control of the movement throughout the exercise.
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Breathing

  • Inhale as you lower the dumbbells.
  • Exhale as you press the dumbbells upward.
