Proper Position
- Set an incline bench to about 30 to 45 degrees.
- Hold a dumbbell in each hand with a neutral grip (palms facing each other) and lie back on the bench.
- Position the dumbbells close to your chest, slightly above shoulder level, with your elbows close to your body.
- Keep your feet firmly planted on the floor, your back slightly arched, and your core engaged for stability.
Movement
- Push the dumbbells upward in a straight line, bringing them slightly closer together at the top of the movement.
- Slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position, keeping your elbows close to your body.
- Maintain control of the movement throughout the exercise.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Breathing
- Inhale as you lower the dumbbells.
- Exhale as you press the dumbbells upward.
