Proper position
- Lie on the floor or a bench and bend your legs, bending your knees and keeping your feet together.
- Place your hands on your legs.
Movement
- Contract your abdominal muscles to lift your knees towards your chest until your thighs are roughly vertical.
- Wait a second at the point of contraction, then slowly lower your legs back to the starting position.
Breathing
- Inhale as you lower your knees.
- Exhale as you rise.
