Proper position
- Position yourself under a horizontal pull-up bar,
- your pectorals aligned with the bar.
- The bar should be positioned so that your back no longer touches the ground when your arms are extended.
Movement
- From the starting position, hold the bar with both hands.
- The distance between your hands should be equivalent to the width of your shoulders.
- Your legs are straight and your heels should touch the floor.
- Pull on your arms to bring your torso towards the bar, keeping your feet on the ground.
- Make sure you contract your abdominal muscles and buttocks.
- Keep your back straight and your elbows parallel to avoid injury.
- Once you've reached the top position, keep up the effort on the way down, controlling your body until you return to the starting position.
Breathing
- Remember to breathe throughout the exercise.
- Inhale on the way up.
- Exhale on the way down.
