Instructions

Proper position

  • Position yourself under a horizontal pull-up bar,
  • your pectorals aligned with the bar. 
  • The bar should be positioned so that your back no longer touches the ground when your arms are extended.

Movement

  • From the starting position, hold the bar with both hands. 
  • The distance between your hands should be equivalent to the width of your shoulders. 
  • Your legs are straight and your heels should touch the floor. 
  • Pull on your arms to bring your torso towards the bar, keeping your feet on the ground. 
  • Make sure you contract your abdominal muscles and buttocks. 
  • Keep your back straight and your elbows parallel to avoid injury.
  • Once you've reached the top position, keep up the effort on the way down, controlling your body until you return to the starting position. 

Breathing

  • Remember to breathe throughout the exercise.
  • Inhale on the way up.
  • Exhale on the way down.
